Please HELP - Setting Up Xecutor 2 Pro / Evox

After about 15 HOURS installing the Xecutor 2 Pro, and almost two WEEKS of aggrevation getting a replacement for the bad chip, I think I finally got the mod chip installed and flashed (Xecutor 2 BIOS Manager verified it) -

Now I started to make an ISO of Evox using Nero (I snagged an ISO off the net somewhere

) But I can't seem to get it to work. Since I don't have a DVD burner, I'm forced to use a CD/RW burner. I'm using a brand new Sony CD-RW to make the XBox ISO. I thought I followed the direction on creating an ISO perfectly, but I'm having difficulty now.

When I turn ont he XBox with the Xecutor 2 Pro DISABLED, the system acts / runs perfectly (like there is no mod in the XBox

). When I ENABLE the mod, and turn on the XBox, it flashes RED / GREEN constantly, and does nothing

When I turn on the Box, allow a normal boot, insert the ISO disk, the XBox says it's not the right kind of disc. So I can't get the dashboard to come up.

Where do I go from here? I searched the forums for the situation I'm in, I found nothing EXACTLY the same.

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated - Almost 15 DAYS of setting up the XBox with a mod chip has me at my wits ends!!

Look harder. Flashing lights at bootup is a common problem with an easy fix. Its almost always bad solder connection. This is proven when your Xbox boots normally when the chip is disabled.

You will never get anything but an original game to boot when the mod is disabled so trying CDRW or DVDRW doesnt matter until you have the mod running and working.

Man ... I can't see how there is a bad solder point ... I double, and TRIPLE checked the solder points - That's why it took 15 hours to install the mod (that and troubleshooting).

Do you know which wire (solder point) could be the culprit? Let me guess ... the GREY wire ... UUggghhhh!!

Do I understand this correctly? Once you have the mod chip's BIOS flashed, you still have to install the dashboard onto the hard drive? All these tutorials are GREAT, but "too many" make it confussing.

Is there a tutorial (for idiots) that describes (in detail) how to create (an ISO) and install a dashboard?

Also - Do you have to turn on ALL of the dip switches when you start the XBox to install the dashboard?

Are there instructions somewhere that indicates which switches do what on the Xecutor 2 Pro?

I ripped apart the XBox AGAIN (probably the 10th time - I can do this in my sleep now) ... ALL the solder points are FINE!!! But I still can't figure out what to do next!

Is there ANYONE who I can frickin' PAY to install this DAMN THING?!?!?!

I am almost at the bursting point. I have asked more questions and am just as confused.
If you find someone let me know OK, beacuse I know these people here try and be helpful but I think they are used to talking to people who are not as JIVETURKEY said a vidiot lol

Yes I guarantee there are instructions for the Pro jumper settings somewhere but you can look for them just like I can.

How are you "triple-checking" those points? Squinting and praying or a multimeter?

I guess you better quadruple-check them, especially the D0.(the beotch of the bunch)

I checked the connections with a multimeter ...

The wire is intact, the molex is making connection with the chip molex, and I moved the grey wire around to the back of the motherboard to make it easier (better connection). I KNOW the connections are good.

I think the problem is in flashing the BIOS. How do I KNOW that I have a legit BIOS that is compatible with my chip (Xecutor 2 Pro)? Luckily I have a laptop at my disposal ... I set the laptop up back-to-back with the XBox (so there is NO parallel cable inline). I followed the direction using the Xecutor2 Pro BIOS Manager, and it says that the flash procedure has been verified. But when I turn it on ... It's CHRISTMAS in Spring! Could the FCC cable be bad? If so, why does it verify the flash? AND how can I still enable / disable the mod chip (dip switch #4)? Why did they install 4 switches on the back? You can flash each bank individually using that BIOS Manager program. UUUGGGHHH!!!

Should have purchased the Xecutor 2 Lite!!!

Well checking the connections is the first thing I would do but if you are sure they are good then you are left with a bad bios. I would just go ahead and use another bios even if it says it verified the one you've got. If it's not working you've got nothing to lose!

On Easter Sunday I had an epiphany!

I realized that the BIOSes I've been trying to load are incompatible with my Xecutor 2 Pro!! I was trying to load Evox BIOSes, when (just to get the damn thing to work) I should have loaded the Xecutor BIOSes!!!

I KNEW it wasn't my installation!

Now that I know how to do this ... It IS a piece of cake!

Just read, and read, and read all the killer tutorials out there!

BTW I did a DANCE when i got it to work!!
