Samsung DVD-R Media
Haven't seen much written about the Samsung "BeALL" DVD-R media on the Forum.
Can anyone comment on the quality, say, as compared to Ritek or Maxell or Sony? Thanks, LGS Last edited by lugesm; 11-04-2003 at 18:12. |

OK . . . Guess one of two things is happening here.
1. No one else has used the Samsung BeALL DVD-R media, or 2. This is an uninteresting subject. In either case . . . . I will report on the relative merits of Samsung vs the Ritek I have been using. I have ordered 50 of the Samsung discs, to be here next Wednesday. When I have enough data to make a reliable report I will follow up. LGS Last edited by lugesm; 12-04-2003 at 15:36. |

OK. I have now backed up about 20 DVD movies with DVD X Copy, a Sony DRU-500Ax burner, and the following type DVD-R discs.
Sony Maxell Ritek Samsung BeALL My new Sony DVD player plays all of them flawlessly, but my older Panasonic DVD will only play the Sony and Maxell discs. It always fails on the Ritek and Samsung DVD-R media. While I cannot conclude that the Samsung and Ritek are inferior (I MAKE NO SUCH CLAIM.) it is clear that there is some subtle difference in these discs. This data is offered, without conclusion, as a caution for those who might be using older DVD players. LGS Last edited by lugesm; 02-05-2003 at 18:24. |
