Exclamation Question????

Hey I was wondering if there is any way I can take an image off a ps2 dvd game with a dvd drive I don't have a burner yet but I'm getting one this week and I'm running the latest nero buring software. Also I have a ps2 model number schpoo1 I think is that a good model to mod and if so which mod would work best with that model. Thanx

Sure you can. Install a good DVD software (Nero might do, but I recommend RecordNOW MAX from Stomp), and extract to an image.

When the burner arrives, burn the image.

Simple.

As for which mod chip, I always recommend the Apple - the Magic is lousy, the DMS is SUPER lousy (especially at $100+), and the Messiah is great but overpriced ($60).

You said "SCHP001", which tells me nothing. I'd need the actual model number, serial, and datecode to tell you the version.

You're missing a couple numbers in the middle.

Like a 30, or a 35.

My system, for example, is:

SCPH35001 = V4 Gran Turismo 3 Bundle Edition

But most numbers cover multiple versions, etc.

The best modchip for any version, in my mind, is the Apple. The Messiah2 is a better chip, but it's a LOT more money (double the price) and nobody has yet found a game the Apple won't boot.

Still not sure what version you have. A 30001R can be a v4, v5, or v6. Look at the pic below. Do you have that screw?

Probably. Do you have that screw or not? This will help identify if you have a v4, v5, or v6.

And there are Apple chips for all models, but we'll need to figure out which one you have BEFORE you take it apart. LOL.

Hey bighap I check it out and yeah I got that screw also there is 6 screws on the bottom of the case and 2 on the left side. Another question when I take the cover off to the expansion bay right above it so sort of like a slot thing it looks like you would slide something in there. If you ever seen the game enhancer for the ps it looks like the slot of the back of the ps1 that the game enhancer plugs in to do you know what the slot is for thanx for all the help

Yeah you have a v5. That plug you see is for a hard drive. Nothing else uses that plug, at least not yet.
