Question black screen

have a v3 ps2 with a magic3 fitted and was working fine, but now i,m getting a black screen and will not boot up. If i remove the O wire from the bios it works fine. I have checked for any solder bridging and tried moving O wire to another via on the same track but still no joy

What doesn't work when the O wire is connected? Original cds, original dvds, cd backups, dvd backups? And what exactly works when the O wire is removed?

Could be that the O wire when compressed by the metal case pushed a long exposed end onto an adjacent wire.

Question

No disks boot at all with the O wire connected , once i disconnect the O wire i can boot up original cd,dvd and dvd rom ,there is no bridging on the soldering as i,ve checked it all with a continuity meter. The ps2 was working fine with chip fitted then all of a sudden this happened, maybe a dodgy chip i suspect. I,ve got a couple here so when i get a moment i will try changing it
