Problem!!!!!

deai am using a magic 3 modchip in my version 7 US PS2. I made a back-up of my orignal copy of GTA Vice City. I used verbatim DVD-R. I loading using normal bott method and when it goes to the "Playstation 2" screen it splashes away, the goes to the memory card selection screen for about 7 seconds then says that i should insert a playstation2 format disk...

Any body have any ideas???

Thanks for any help!!!!

I think GTA Vice City is one of the games the Magic 3 just doesn't agree with. Maybe cleaning the laser might help. Getting a Messiah 2 is the easiest way to go though, i don't believe it has a problem with it.

Correct, Magic 3s don't like Vice City. Messiah 2 will play everything perfectly. I highly recommend you make the switch. Magic 3 sucks.

Also something to consider. Verbatim just ain't all that!

V. expensive and not the best media to use with PS2. U will b 100% better off with traxdata,DVDMaster or Ritek.

Ritek

I burnt a 1 for 1 copy of GTA: Vice City on Ritek DVD -R's and have had no problems at all. Even gave it to my friend with an older chip and Ver 4 system and it worked for him as well. Change Media.

Some good games to test media with are:

GTA Vice City
The Getaway
Timesplitters 2
Max Payne
Conflict Desert Storm

If all these work flawlessly and load up as fast as the originals then u no u onto a good media.

I think at some time everyone has used a cheap brand of media but they work fine until they don't work fine if u get what I mean.

I used to use bulkpaq and these worked fine until I backed up time splitters 2 and Max Payne and then I found out just how bad they really were.

For low dvd work games almost any dvd-r media will do but when u get to the real workhorse games a lot will fail.
