Test Images

I heard that there are freely distrubatle images (likely only 1-5 megs big) out there that are made in different protection formats (different versions of sfaedisk, etc) that are basically made to see if your drive can burn safedisk.

Does anyone know where I can download one of these images? I recently got a drive and want to make sure I can burn safedisk on it (and that I do it right). I dont have a SINGLE game that has safedisk (pc is old, not much new games run decently) so I can't test it by burning a copy of any of my games.

These images are specially made to see if you burned it successfully so they would likely be a better test then trying to burn a safedisk game anyway.

If anyone knows about this, I think it's Cirkutz. But personally I don't think you need this, just burn the image on a cdrw and you'll know whether your burner works. The only downsize is that I haven't been able to find any 80 minute cdrw's yet, but then again I haven't been searching too hard. Anyone know if these exist ?

Edit : whoops, didn't read your whole post. Woe unto me, I'm getting old and senile . Anyway, I never heard of these but if they exist I'm sure one of the regulars will be able to help you.

Nice one, Cirkutz. I just tested it out on my resident bf1942 clonecd image, and it works great (patch 1.31). That's another 750Mb of free space that I can use for better stuff

So if I can burn the 2.5 image, I can burn 2.8? The only differeence in 2.5<->2.8 is in ripping the image?

Thats the problem, I dont have a SINGLE game that has safedisk (all my games are old, like 2001 and before, I have a old pc). I just want to make sure I know how to do it and that my drive can.
