about CloneCD 4 and PSX profile......

Is CloneCD really the best? is there something else good enough to be a replacement? PS2 backup never worked for me with CloneCD even with that PSX profile.

Also, how come the special profile used to backup PS/PS2 game allows no slower than 4x burning speed.... it's kindda weird.

I just backed up my Raiden Project (PSX) and it worked fine until stage 6, where is simply froze in the early stage. I figured this is also a problem caused by the burning process instead of the PS...

Thanks for the help

4x might be the slowest speed allowed by your burner. Have your friend make a backup using CloneCd for ya, instead of Nero like before. Have you ever got a cdr game to fully work?

PSX: Yes. Raiden Project's backup CD was recongnized and i played til stage 6, so i guess that counts as Working. and Parasite Eve worked too.

PS2: Never worked when i try to burn it. I borrowed one of my friend's copied Ring of Red, just to see if my mod chip is working. And it worked fine. i asked him if he knows how to do this so maybe he can help me out. But he doesn't know either, he told me that his games were bought by his friend in Hong Kong and shipped to him, in other word, pirated. So no help from him

BTW, I just dug something out of PC forum. In order to backup PS2 cdr game, is a "2 sheeps" CD-R drive required? That is ... the Correct EFM... this is the list I have the Matsush1ta 730 on my laptop, a "no sheep" CD burner

Yeah you need to have a 2 sheep burner. I am probably going to be selling mine cause I am getting a combo cd-rw/dvd-rom drive. It's not a laptop burner, but I'll give you a good deal if you are interested.

Two alternatives:

I had trouble with cloneCD 4 so I reverted back to cloneCD3 and this seems to work fine for all back-ups.

Alternatively try using BlindWriteSuite from VSO.

This works perfectly with me every time for ps1 and ps2 cd's and it also allows you to make a cdrwin compatible image incase u need to patch it.

I've never really rated clonecd that much as have had loads of probs with it. I used to use cdrwin all the time but blindwritesuite does a perfect back-up every time.

Regards...............

I always use CDRWin to copy PSX/PS2 cd's. For whatever reason it just always works the best.

As for DVD's, Recordnow MAX is the only option AFAIC.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh What's VSO??

I tried cdrwin, but that thing does not support my Matsush1ta UJDA730 DVD/CDRW.

Also could you tell me where to get cloneCD 3 now, all i can find is 4s
For BlindWrite Suite 4, I could not read the image to my HD through it, but i could copy the image file created by CloneCD4 to the empty disk. However, the verification did not pass on: File system, synthesis, physical media. So perhaps the image created by CloneCD 4 has some problem......

Thank you

VSO is who makes blindwrite. I am sure ottoman will be glad to hook you up with the CloneCd 3 setup file.

Ok, i'll try to catch you through aim sometime.

BTW, i tried BlindWrite Suite 4 (here it is, another ver. 4) didn't worked. I read Okage from the disk to the HD, and tried to copy the image to Fujifilm. But this time, instead of the PS2 can't read the disk, the machine told me to "insert a PS or PS2 format disk"

As a quote from Jeff Lebowsky: "New sh1t had come to light!"

I don't know what exactly is behind those two kind of errors......

Plz, enlighten me.
