I've only made 1 backup of a dvd, and it works on my PS2. I used dvd X copy.
What type of dvd are you using, DVD-r or DVD+r? The older playstations have dvd-roms that can't read dvd+r, however they can read dvd-r.

Yeah it sounds like you used +r/+rw media or possibly even -rw. If you are using one of these formats you need to either get a new ps2, or burn to -r if your burner allows you to do so, if it doesn't you will need a -r burner for it to work with your weak v4 laser.

lol, yah. They are horrible. If you actually get a movie working with them, consider yourself lucky because they are the worst brand in the world. I never once got anything to burn on them, movie or data. I have a sony DRU500ax and your problem will probably e solved by switching media.
heh, my local microcenter had a sail on them. 5pack for $5. The sale ended 2 days later because they had so many returns. The store even took them off the shelf and stopped selling them. Such a shame because they had like 100 packs.

If you are looking to spend about $1 a disc and still get top quality media, look into getting some Ritek.
