How-dee! First Thread Started!
I'm interested in getting a DVD-Burner and throwing it into my Shuttle SN41G2 small form factor box. I am concerned, however, about heat issues in such a small box (seeing as how it only has a rear fan and a heatsink for the processor). Is heat an issue with DVD-burners, and if so, then what are your recommendations about throwing it into a cube? Toasty or tasty? Thanks!

Don't know much about your setup but hopefully this might help.
Pioneer drives have a cooling fan built into them so I would think this would compound your heat issue. I have recently upgraded to a Sony DW U-10A (OEM version of DRU-500A) and have not noticed any heat build up on the drive or the disks. So in my humble opinion the Sony would be the safest bet in your situation. People might like to give any heat info they have on their drives to give you a broader choice. As an aside, I would investigate if it's possible to put a cooling fan on you CPU. |

I'm amazed that no one has given any input on this issue.

the question to pose is 'what is your heat situation now?' numbers! otherwise, (and maybe even after that), its pure speculation.
