Impossible creatures protection question

Being a Microsoft game, does Impossible Creatures have the usual install copy protection? I have bought previous MS games and been unable to install them due to this strange protection method they use. Thanks

The strange thing is that the English version is protected with Safedisc 2.80, while the German and French versions have Safedisc 2.70
