The speed of dvdxcopy?
Can I change the speed of my drives to record a little faster? I have read where some people can read and write faster.
I have a P4 2.53 gig 512 Corsair xms 2700 Pacific digital 16x DVD Drive Sony Dru500a DVD Burner Also can you set up dvd xcopy to burn straight to the dvd burner or does it have to record it to your hard drive first. This usually takes about 30 mintues to read then about 45 minutes to burn per disk. Is this normal? Thanks for any info!

Dvdxcopy will record as fast as your media allows. Get 4x media and you can burn at 4x. You can't change any speed options. You have to write to the hard drive first. 45 minutes to burn 1 disc? Sound like you are using 1x media. Get some faster media.

Just got online. Thanks for the reply Bighap!!
I did check the media I am using and I bought it at shop 4 tech. It is the ritex media and I'm pretty sure it is only 1x. I also did read somewhere that some people had to change the firmware for the dvd burner they were using. I'm not sure what that means or how to find out if I need to try and do that? If I just buy a faster media will that work with my sony dru500a? Thanks for the Help!!!

Certain firmware will allow you to burn 1x Ritek at 2x. I also use 1x Ritek but with Pioneer firmware 1.31 it allows you to burn at 2x. I am not sure if there is a firmware for the Sony burner that allows you to do this. Ill look into this. Yes, buying faster media is another resolution to your speed problem.

UPDATE:
After doing some research, I found out that firmwares 1.0f and 1.0g will allow you to burn your 1x Ritek at 2x.
