Unsafedisc 2.40.10 Random error :-)
Trying to backup Emperor: Battle for Dune which is protected with safedisc v2. I´ve used the dumper with all the exe´s that there are in the cd (I´ve copied it fully to the HD) and it always says the same: Random error :-). Also tried with the installed exe (emperor. exe). I´m working with a clone cd copy to a CD-RW with a Plextor 8432T (I suppose that this isn´t important). No idea about what to do next and of course I´ve read all the txt´s. Plz need help and sorry for my bad english

There is one unsafedisc for each sd2 version (2.05.30, 2.10.30, 2.30.3x(0,1,3) and 2.40.10) so there is no generic unsafedisc 2.x.x ... make sure what sd2 version has that game and then use the right unsafedisc.

unSafeDisc v2.40.10 Ultimate SafeDisc v2 UnWrapper! 2.02.40 / 2.05.30 / 2.10.30 / 2.30.31 / 2.30.33 / 2.40.10 Maybe I'm stupid but don't they mean 2.4.10 works with all versions? They don't have a link to unsafedisc2.05.30 for instance. |

I also kept getting this "random error" when trying to fix F1 2001 UK.
In the end I uninstalled Playbackup which was running ( you have to also make sure that it has uninstalled the playbackup.vxd) and it worked first time!! F1 2001 uses safedisc_v2_30_31 |

The archive contains all versions of UnSafedisc because each version of Safedisc 2 uses a slightly different encryption method (to cut a long story short)
Download the help file from gamefix. Also, the game must be installed FULLY, as the game.exe file is compressed in another file on the cd, and thus needs to be dumped to you HD during the install process. also, forgot to mention.... If you update with an official patch, you risk not being able to use cdr or cdrw as these newer verions of sd2 ask your burner to check the ATIP portion of a disc to see if it's a cdr or pressed silver original. Solution.....run from cdrom not burner. Also, if your copy of Emporer is not a true 1:1 (and it may not be if not done on a compliant burner) then you will not be able to unpack it with UnSafedisc. UnSafedisc works by runnning the game.exe file and letting it go so far (until the real executable is produced) then stopping it. So, if your game won't run from your copy, then UnSafedisc has no chance of unpacking it. |

I had the same pesky error on my Windows ME system.
It took me a few hours but finally found one way to get it working: Reboot in safe mode (use F8 at startup). Then use the dumper and you're home free. |

I have been trying to copy Emperor, but I used v2.0.31 or something, anyway it was the one that SafeDisc Analyzer found, however, I patched setup.exe and emperor.exe then burnt the cd but it crashed when i tried to install it off the cd.
Someone plz help. :-> |

You must do a FULL INSTALL first, then use unsafedisc.
You are then able to run from an imperfect copy cd. In every case (to my knowledge) you cannot alter the setup system with unsafedisc so that you can install from an imperfect disc. |
