V3 with +R media?

I was just raeding the cog mthod thread and i might say its hilarious. But I noticed that Dust2Dust mentioned at one point that a V3 would not boot +R media. Is this true for the version 3 only or all prior versions?

V1, V2, V3 have **** lasers, hence they probably wont b able 2 read DVD-R and DVD+R.
Sell ur V3 and get a V7.

I personaly have a version 7. I just installed a messiah chip in my bros refurbished V1. I have made about 20 backups for him and they are all +R. So if the older V1 lasers were incapable of playing +R media odds are the new laser they installed is better than they old ones and less likely to turn to ****. I hope!

Thumbs up

Sounds like Sony did a good repair job and gave you a nice new laser.
