Question DVD9 Games

I've heard a rumor that future games will be release using the dual layer DVD format (DVD9). Can anyone confirm this? Has any game released with this format? And if so, has anyone look into a method for ripping them? Will it be similar to downsizing a DVD9 movie? - Just a thought!

There is already a couple of DVD-9 games.....

Xenosaga is one of them......

I'm sure that in the future you will see more dvd9 games, BUT I also think that it will be a long time before ALL games are dvd9...

All of the release groups are working on trying to backup these games....

Also, keep in mind that the only reason a game devoloper would make a DVD9 game is because of it's size. If the game is too large to fit on 1 DVD disk, then a DVD9 is in order.

I don't see why every PS2 game in the future should need DVD9.

Would they not want to fill it up with dummy files (so it will fill the whole 9GB) to curb copying? I mean, if I was the game developer this is what I would do.

I have been sent two pressed DVD9 copies for testing out with modchips. Metal Gear Solid Substance is the Jap version of MGS 2 (I have the original); it was issued in Japan on DVD9.

So I have tested the duplicate with Magic 3, Messiah 2 etc. Works fine.

devil may cry 2 is not a DVD9, its 2 DVD5's. One DVD for each character.

DVD9 pressed backups will boot on v5/v6.

No patch to make full AR2 functions work without doingle so far as I know.

Because they can't induce the wobble in the groove that makes up the Sony protection mechanism.

Search on WOBBLE and it's all explained somewhere I believe. (If I posted it here).
