Help on Vice City

hi im kinda new and i got a question...

i have a ps2 not sure wat version its a scph 30001 R and i got it modified recently. im not sure wat type of mod but its a direct load without inserting a gameshark. i can ply dvd-r and cd-r games no problem but when i bought a copy of gta vc it always seem to freeze and says error after 5mins into the game. i cant even move to the first mission. im just wondering wat is the problem and if i buy the original would there still be any problem or would it be better?

If you have a backup you should already have the original. You might have a Magic 3, which are notorious for having problems with GTA: VC and Kingdom Hearts. Or your backup might be on crappy media.

yeah wot disc is it on ritek, traxdata etc

if it's unbrannded that's probablies ur problem s*** disc

so after YOU COPY YOUR ORIGIONAL to ur hard drive

copy it back to a better disc if this dont work go get ur PS2

re-modded with Messiah 2 Pro see Dust2Dust

and if u live in the USA see bill

i tried the burned gta vc in my friends house and it works fine. there ps2 is mod with something where they have to put boot disk then an original with a higher toc then the copied. it works fine with theres but then in my ps2 it just freezes or error after a few second even minutes of gameplay. i really want to play this game and im not considering to mod it again cause its just newly modded. i dont think its the disk quality either.

well a good thing happen today though, i actually played th gta vc for more than 10mins all i did was turn off the music and sfx... hope it works again

so do you guys think i would have less prob if i buy the origanal or would it freeze and disc error often?

i now believe you have the magic 3 installed(for ps2 games u start from stanby with 1 click of reset, and ps1/dvd u hold intill blue eject light comes on!)
If that is what you do then u do indeed have a magic 3 as i do also. the easiest thing to do is buy a magic3.1 and jus replace your old magic 3 with that(all you have to do is solder to the chip)! hope this helps!

I'm not 100% sure that would help.... Even the new Magic 3.1 is still having some problems.......(I'm beginning to wonder if they will ever get it right)

i wont be re modding my ps2 to magic 3.1 or messiah 2 cause i have no money

plus im getting frustrated. i guess ill just buy the original gta vc.

Even the ORIGINAL will freeze if you still have the Magic 3 in your system....

AND..... You SHOULD HAVE ALREADY OWNED the original since you were backing it up........
