Tomb Raider 3 on PS2

I asked this question about 6 months back and no-one knew but as lots of new members thought I'd run it again.

I have Tomb Raider 3 original for psx. This loads fine on my PS2. I make a back-up of it using cloneCD. The backup works fine on my modded psx and on epsxe but ps2 won't load it. It gets to the psx screen then goes blank. As psx will load it and ps2 will load original am having tough time getting my head around it!

Have tried standard loading and using ar2 psx bonus disc as a boot disc and neither work.

Anyone have any ideas why??

Regards.........

This may sound strange but I had a problem ages ago with a jap import ps1 game which I converted to pal format (for psone to boot).

When loading in the ps2 I had to take out the ps2 memory card. Try that,

If not, make sure that you definatly turn off the option for smoother graphics (Doh! Can't remember what its called)

Thanx 4 replys.

Okay have tried booting with no mem card and with PSX mem card and no joy.

It not really a problem as I have PSX to run it on and have much better games to spend my time on.

Just a conundrum that I was confused about!!

I did also consider the region patching of PSOne era but it is a UKCal version and I am trying it on a UKPal machine.

Have now tried it on version 3,4,5 and 7 so it not a version glitch.

I guess it just one of those things that can't be explained.

Once again thanx for responses.

I got a similiar problem as well..Except with me it's not TR3 rather with Tales of Destiny 2..
For the god sake's It will NOT BOOT on my PS2 what's so ever..
It plays on my PS1 fine but Ps2 it will not load..
I know there are some PS1 games that does not on the Ps2 with Messiah,Magic or Messiah 2 so my conclusion is that..
At least I think that's what it is..
