NTSC PS2 on PAL TV

Is it possible for NTSC games to run full screen on a PAL TV. My TV is capable of running at 60Hz and I have been doing it for years with my PS1.

It's just that I have just had the Magic 3 universal chip installed and my NTSC PS1 games that used to run full screen on the PS1...now have a border on the bottom of the screen and run at PAL speeds.

My main concern is it will be this way with any NTSC PS2 game that I get. I want games like Devil May Cry 2 and any fighting game I get to run at full screen/speed.

Thanks

Chade

Only thing I know is that there is converter box which does PAL to NTSC..So there might be reverser but running at full screen not too sure about it though..Charlie take over this thread if you get the message..

don't know if this will help but i found that if u have the region X cd u can play PAL games and movies in NTSC mode by doing the following when it loads up it has a screen with all the diff regions on this screen press triangle and the screen changes from PAL 2 NTSC then run your game by pressing the o button the tray opens replace dvd region X cd with Game cd-dvd or movie then press start and your pal games will work in NTSC. if u wish to do this with a backup game and u use AR2 OR GS do the above steps but instead of using a game or mvie insert AR2and it will load in NTSC mode then do your normal trick to run the game.

I don't have any import games to try myself but this may be a way to run them. let me know if any one has succses or no succses with this method. lets get rid of NTSC to PAL patches

Well this is an interesting one. All our NTSC PS2 games play full screen on both my PAL only TV and the multi-system TV, both on the Messiah 2 and the Magic 3U.

I have the NTSC Colour Fix set on a switch to either Pseudo-NTSC or PSeudo-PAL. When I have the switch in pseudo-PAL (60Hz, 525 lines, PAL colour system) and play an NTSC PS2 game, I get full colour, full screen.

So all I can think of is that either your PAL TV doesn't handle 60Hz well, or there is another AV port that does.

Oh, btw, there is no difference in game speed between PAL and NTSC. It's a myth.

Well that is a relief to hear about the NTSC PS2 games running full screen on a PAL TV. As of yet I have only played NTSC PS1 games on my TV with the above prob...I was just concerned that the same thing would happen with my PS2 games as well.

There is also no way that the PAL version of Tekken 3 runs at nearly the same speed as the NTSC version. It must be a myth that its a myth .

Thanks

Chade
