no chip boot

I am new to the ps2 and have heard that you can use a boot cd and then open the tray and switch it with the backup /copy cd/dvd.
If so is there somewhere with this info on the boot cd and the way to install the switch to release the tray.

Im pretty new to ps2, & have just installed a no-solder mod(all it does is allow u to eject the cd tray to perform swap)& use the "swap magic" discs.other people say the swap magic discs dont boot dvd rips, but i ripped state of emergency with a kit & it boots ok.
mod=£10 discs=£20 from interesting devices(the mod is well easy to install aswell).hope this helps u out.
Dan.
