having trouble with burning dvd games using pioneer a05

in really need help, im using a pioneer A05 and i cant copy any ps2 dvd games, I keep getting errors using Recordnow max, saying ( error-10 at sector 800-disc-read error - command: 2a sense: 03 asc:73 ascq:03 ) wich isnt this supposed to be the best? ive tried Nero and that doesnt work either, also ive tried Easy cd creator 5 with no luck and Primodvd Prassi wich wont see my dvd burner, im told prassi is not compatible with the A05, if someone could please help me id really appreciate it. im out of ideas and ready to give up,

Does it give this error on ALL games, or just the one you are trying to backup now....?

It sounds like the original you are trying to copy from is bad....

Are you trying to write the image to the hard drive when the error occurs, or does it happen when trying to burn the image to your dvd-r..?

it copied over fine to my hard drive but when i went from hard drive to disk is when i got the error, i tried again late last night except i did my speed at 2x instead of 1x using Recordnow Max and it said it worked, my only problem is im still waiting for my mod-chip so i cant test the disk yet, also im gonna try another game here in a minute to see if that one works, alsodoes easy cd creator work ok with a pioneer Ao5? ive been thinking about swapping for an Ao4 if i can find someone to swap with, mines only a week old,

Why in the world would you want to swap your A05 for a A04???

I have Easy CD Cremator

installed on my system... It doesn't conflict with the A05 BUT I don't know if you can use it with the A05.... I have never had a reason too..

Sounds like the trouble you are having may be media related.... When you get your chip in let us know how everything works...

i tried a couple of other disks and i had no problem, now i just need to get the chip in this weekend and ill let you know how everything works, also it was vice city giving me all the trouble, has anyone else had trouble with that game and also im using hypermedia dvd disks, 10 for $15.00 but they are probably not that good hu?

IM having trouble with Vice City as well. You'll have to wait and see if your DVD-R's are any good once you get your modded ps2.
I have the A104 if you want to trade for the A05

I have the A05 & it works like a dream with Nero, Recordnowmax and Primo Prassi (the latter been my favorite).

I write mainly on the fly in conjunction with a pioneer 117 but, have written from image file as well. I have used various types of media but have settled with Datasafe 2x (it's cheap and it works!).

My point is - the A05 is brilliant, You have written discs successfully, then you have probs with one game & u want to swap ur machine for an older model!

Maybe just maybe, you should not write any more discs til ur chip arrives!

how do you use prassi primo, its not compatible with the ao5 and in recordnow max i cant turn off the auto insert notification, could you please e-mail me at [email protected] i would like to talk to you about how to do this , and why im having so much trouble,

Prassi IS compatible with the A05! I know because I use it daily!

What is the prob with auto insert notification? I havn't used recordnowmax extensively (its highly reccomended so I trialed it) but every time I have used it its worked fine.

Open RecordNow....
Click Tools:
Click Options:
Make sure your under the general tab...
Check: Autorun Shield (Disable Auto Insert Notification when this application is running)

Try downloading the latest version 4.5
I imagine also you havn't got the latest nero so update that (my 8yr old daughter backs up her own games using nero)

When you have finished go over all the help files at the respective sites and if you read them you will be up & running!

yes i understand that part about going under the tab and switching to disable it when auto shield is on, but at the bottom of the screen it still says its on shouldnt it swith over to OFF? i cant find a version 4.5 any help? also i dont have nero loaded what do you use that for?

You can download version 4.5 HERE!!!!

This is only for version 3.0x......

Any version 3.0x it will update to 4.5...

Pontiac, I think you mean you have Kypermedia disc instead of Hypermedia disc. Probably you got it from office max like I did. If they are Kypermedia disc then yes those disc are not that good. It sometimes take several tries to get them started on my PS2 and for movies my dvd player will not recognize them. Burn those games back onto my new Ritek disc and it is read fine by PS2.
