Looking for a new burner.......

I currently have a LG-CDRW CED-8083B drive and im lookin for a better one. Whats the best brand and possibly model of burner to get for backing up PC CD's and can make 1:1 copies and effectively get around SafeDisc2 crap.
(Unlike most people i am prone to destroying my cds and actually do need backups.....hehe.)
I heard Phillips are the best?
If anyone can help id appreciate it....
