Hi,
Don't know if ya really want 2 hear this but here goes anyway. I managed to make a perfect mirrored back up of my Icewind Dale cd's without need for any patches, which I believe is Laserlok protected, using the following hardware and software settings...

Teac x32 atapi reader, in Clone CD, Using Subchannel Data selected, Subchannel Audio selected, and Intelligent bad sector scanner selected also, I selected read speed as max, and read retries set to zero, and finally error correction on software.
And to write it I used the following...
Phillips x32x8x4 writer. I dont know if it is these settings that you may need to select - if you didn't before - or whether it is because I used a Philips writer to do it, since they seem to be a popular choice, as they can also backup Safedisk 2 protected software. I recommend you try it again with these settings if you haven't previously. If you have then I'm sorry m8, I can't help ya.
Good Luck, let us know how u go on.
