can my cd rom be flashed to read subchannel data?

hello

i burn with an acer 1832A and it will burn 96 Bytes P-W Subchannel Data but not read

i have a 44X Pine Technology PT-944A cd-rom which cannot read subchannel data........is it possible to flash it with firmware of a rom that does?

i cannot find this rom on the pine tech site let alone a firmware update

any help is appreciated
