Pioneer DVD burner

I've been reading the posts about buying the Pioneer A05 DVD burner and wanted to get some advice on another Pioneer model. Its on sale for $400 CAD here in Canada, but the model number is DVR-104WB. Ity supports DVD-R and CD-R only. Not DVD+R. Does this make a huge difference? I've read here that DVD-R is better since some PS2s don't like the DVD+R. HELP!!

All versions, v1-v7, of ps2 support dvd-r if properly modded. dvd+r only works consistantly on v5-v7. You don't really need the +r option when it comes to PS2 games. But if you want both options go with the Sony DRU-500a.

Demand for the Sony DRU500A reminds me of the great TellyTubby famine 5 years ago
