Is it possible to backup PS2 games to CD-R? If so, any tips?

look at the bottom of the game you want to backup if it is blue/purple then you can put it on a cd-r if it is silver then you have to rip it (take out sound files ect.) so it can fit on a cd-r or you have to put it on a dvd-r.
and i use cdrwin for making backups

How long does it usually take to rip it to a CD?

i have never done any rips put i think it depends on the game.
