Unhappy PSOne (SCPH-102) Problem

Hi,

I have tried doing many searches on these forums and the web for a solution to my problem but have managed to find nothing.

A friend has chipped my sisters PSOne (SCPH-102). We bought the pic chip and programmed it using his Elvis and he installed it.

The problem is some backups work and some don't. On the games that the backups don't work, it gets as far as the black screen with the big 'P' and keeps the disc spinning. I know that the backups do work because they work on my cousins PSX. An example of this is I bought Dancing Stage Euromix, made a backup and this worked on the PSOne, I then made another backup from the backup and this would not work on the PSOne but it did work on the PSX???

I have read on here that if it gets to the black screen then the modchip is working correctly. Is this true, or would we be better programming a new chip?

My friend has checked over all of the connections and says that they are all ok.

This is a new PSOne as well and not a second hand one, so I don't think it could be the laser.

Could someone please post an idiots guide on how to program the chips, a link to the code (we used the code from maxking) to make sure we did do it right?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. If you need more info, please ask me.

Thanks again and sorry for all the questions.
