I'm still getting disc read error with my DVD-RW, I'm about to give up =(

v.4 PS2
Magic 3 clone
pioneer 104, fw 1.31
RecordNow Max 4.10

I picked up a TDK dvd-rw disc today. Burned Gran Turismo 3 on it, no luck. All I get is a disc read error. I followed the tutorial.

I used a cleaning cd, no luck. I tried adjusting the laser azimuth, no luck. Put the PS2 up on its side, cleaned it, tried to boot it, no luck.

I'm giving up. Unless someone here lives in southern California, USA, and can let me borrow a known working DVD backup to try on my PS2, I'm deeming my chip bogus. I'll check the install one more time.

I checked the install. Everything appears to be in order.

This has got to be a dvd laser calibration issue. I don't see why it wouldn't be working. I'm just so tired of disassembling / reassembling my damn ps2. I feel like taking the chip out completely, selling my v.4 cheap, buying a v.7 and having it chipped professionally.

Anyone know good chippers in southern CA, USA ? Or chip yourself, close to me (Orange County) ?
