PS2 likes good media, I always use Verbatim with 100% success.
PS2 works well with DVD-R media, only a few of the later versions will read DVD+R. Hope this helps. |

All PS2s will play dvd-r but only v5-v7 will play +r well on a consistant basis.

version ps2
Ok, I found out I have a version 1 I think and just got a dvd+r burner, is there any way I would be able to play dvd+r games, would purchasing a new chip do any good and if so which chip would be ideal? Thanks

You have very very little chance of playing +r. Mod chips have nothing to do with it. The early PS2s had bad lasers that could not read +r very well or at all. Personally, I would sell your v1 and buy a new v7.
