Messiah1 V5 DVD read error.
Ello peeps.
I have a V5 fitted with the Messiah1 which will no longer read dvd originals/back-ups or films. The machine remains at the browser screen. If you press 'X' then eventually it will provide a disc read error! All cd media works fine (originals and back-ups) Thanx Guys

Try using a laser cleaner disc. If it's a no go then your laser is probably on the way out.

Did the cleaning thing first, checked the pots also but that was bang on! Pre school age child bin playing on it dawn til dusk lol.

Thanx 4 that Fanta but this one has been working fine for months. The prob remained after I took the chip out, so I'm convinced tis the laser. Wasn't even one of my installs, whoever did it should be ashamed cos the wiring/solder joints were a major mess (with hindsight I should have taken a piccie).
