how can I backup a CD protected by SECUROM !

I tried to backup homeworld-cataclysm with cloneCD but failed writing ("illegal request...." ).
I used clony to scan the protection and it found SECUROM, i tried again to copy the CD with the settings recommended by clony and failed again : "Writing to CD failed, ILLEGAL REQUEST : COMMAND SEQUENCE ERROR (5:0x2c:0x00) "
??? someone can help me?

Clony has never failed me , but did you tick both read data and audio from subchannel?

What writer do you have?

Ask Raks55 or Bot-Ck they should know

took this from deamon tools website.
Check for these files on the CD or in the installation dir:

CMS16.DLL
CMS_95.DLL
CMS_NT.DLL

There's a new version of Securom (used in e.g. V-Rally 2, Diablo II, Ground Control, Music 2000, Soulbringer). There are NO cms*.* files anymore and on some CDs there isn't even the DADC-logo.
The new Securom files are

SINTF32.DLL
SINTF16.DLL
SINTFNT.DLL
They are copied to Windows system directory!

I don't think its a protection problem, i don't think your writer is compatible. What writer and what cd media are you using? Are you trying to overburn? i got a similar error when trying to overburn on a kodak cdr.

Sounds like your burner won't write subchannel data, mate.
What burner is it as Securom needs sub data ?
