Can mod chips colide ???

Hi,
Installed yesterday a V4 no-solder chip. Doesn't work !
I had an S-Box USB mod chip, which I understand works with one jumper wire which is soldered to the main board.

When I try to boot with the AR2 and the new chip I can't get anything to work.

Can it be that the two can't work together ? Do I need to remove the old jumper wire so the V4 will work ???

Thanks a lot.

V4 mod chip not functioning

Well Dimmi, first thanks for the reply.
I did the exact steps documented everywhere:
1. Turned on PS2 with AR2 disc one inside.
2. It came up I opened the tray, inserted an original Tekken4 DVD (Is it a DVD?), and waited for 30 seconds.
3. Then I chose: Start game, no codes.
4. At this stage the instructions say, that you should press the eject button for 5 seconds until the light turns orange, HOWEVER, once I choose without codes, the tray opens automatically !!! and the light stays green. What I did then is press the eject for 2 more seconds, the tray ejected a bit more and the light turned orange, I quickly inserted the DVD-R, and then after 5 seconds the tray closed automatically.
5. Then I am supposed to press X to load the game, I press X and nothing happens !!
6. I tried to press x and o together (like I did with the s-box one), and then it says loading, but nothing happens.

Any idea's ?
Thanks.

It could be your USB mod

I have a V4 ps2 and no solder mod and works fine
but I use GTA3 or hitman2 originals

Warlock is on a distinguished road
The original dvd game MUST have a higher TOC than the backup you are trying to boot, Tekken 4 is only 2.51 GB which is considered small for dvd games and not a very good original to use. Make sure the USB mod is turned off when using the no-solder to boot dvd-r backups, also, i dont know much about AR2 but it seems like some versions did open and close the tray automatically (i may be wrong) as well as select start game, with/without codes. If this is the case you may need to use GS2 or the boot magic disc.BG and Nightstalker have posted boot methods using both GS2 and AR2 in BG"s " Boot factoids" sticky at the top of the page. If this doesnt help maybe something there can...Good luck

But...

Hi, Thanks for the reply, but first of all, today I tried again, pressed a long eject...and THE PS just turned off with the CD tray stuck out. It looks dead now !!!
It won't turn on. I tried removing the V4 No solder chip and it still doesn't help.
Assuming I do get my PS2 working again, do you think Metal Gear Solid 2 is a good DVD to do the swap with ? Also I had my USB S-Box not even plugged in the box.

ANy idea's ? I'm helpless.
