Just a quickie note to RINCEWINDTHEWIZ, Thanks for the info about Nvidia. Yes it was the driver causing a invalid reg code error.

Thanks i NEVER would have thought of looking at my video card for that error.
The new detenator driver was installed and, way hey! all good.
The new driver is Version 4.13.01.4109 and it runs sweet. the patch was put in (reg code first, then exe file) no worries.

So thanks heaps, if you have had the same error it might be that.

And to DKJSAFBK....you suck.

No problem, I knew about that strange error from usenet posts.

I might add that the real problem is going from a 3x.xx driver to a 4x.xx driver. To avoid this kind of thing in the future, it's best to make a habit of first uninstalling the old driver in add/remove programs before installing the new driver, because as you can see some leftover dlls from the 3x.xx drivers can give you the weirdest of errors

Make sure you use Detonator Destroyer as well. Get it from www.guru3d.com
