Wink ANNO 1503 1.02 (How To make a backup)

Hey Guys,
I have a tip for you to make a playable backup copy of Anno 1503 without cracks needed and also runs with the newest patch (1.02) & with future releases.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STEP 1: (Getting the Stuff you need)
First thing to do is to get Daemon Tools. (http://www.daemon-tools.com/).
Then you have to download the mds File Archive of Anno 1503(Same Page).
Last but not least you have to Download a Program called Alcohol 120% (Same Page, Right Side / Download).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STEP 2: (Making the backup)
Then you make a backup of your Anno 1503 CD2 with Alcohol 120%.
Settings:
Choose your CD-Rom where your Anno CD is inside.
[Tip: If you have only a Image left from your CD(*bin or *ccd etc.) then you can load it into D-Tools and use the virtual CD-Rom as your Drive]

Format: "Benutzerdefiniert"
Check the two Checkboxes( "Ignoriere..."/"Sub Channel..")
I think "Schnelles Fehler Überspringen" is not so important, but if the Checkbox is enabled then check it.
Then you choose mds NOT CCD as Image Format in the next Screen.
You don't need to change the Name, because it should be "1503_CD2".
Choose a path for your Image and then create it
(Example: C:\Anno1503 Image\)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
STEP 3: (Last things to do)
When you have finished creating the MDS-Image then you should see 2 Files in your path you have chosen in STEP 2.
One is called "1503_CD2.mdf" and the other "1503_cd2.mds".
The mdf File should be the bigger one where your Image in the classical meaning is stored (like ccd or bin images).
The other one contains physical structure informations of your CD. Anno 1503 uses a new copyprotection which checks for the CD by asking some physical information, for example the Arc between two sectors etc.)
Then you replace the 1503-Cd2.mds with the one from the Anno Archiv downloaded in STEP 1.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
STEP 4: (Mount the Image)
You can now mount this Image into Daemon-Tools or Alcohol 120% to play the game WITHOUT a Crack. This has the opportunity, that you don't have to wait for a new crack beeing released anymore.

The Last thing I want to say is that if you don't own the orginal game or if you have got Anno 1503 on an illegal way than you must not use this information for playing the game. If you like the game than you should buy it.

C U Silencer

Sorry, doesn't work for me. Mouse Cursor changes to a spinning CD and stays like this for a while. Then it changes back to normal pointer and nothing happens.

What Version of the game do you have ??
What's the size of you mdf file (in bytes) ??

have you followed the steps i have mentioned above ??
you need to replace the created mds file with the one from the Daemon Side.
Do you have the newest version of Daemon Tools ?? If not then get it.

When the CD-Cursor spins and nothing else happens, then the Program has noticed, that the orginal CD is not in the Drive.
The Program writes no more text boxes like please insert the right cd... since this is a weak point of a program where you can easily attemp to crack it.

Read the HowTo one more time and try again then write what happens.
Have you made the mds-Image from an other image(for example. bin) through Daemon-Tools or have you made it with your backup CD or with your orginal CD ??

Where is the Homepage of Daemon Tools?

Sorry. but when I click on your link to Daemon Tools, i just find me on a site with Chinese-encrxpted signs without any allusion for the Tools.
I already have Daemon Tools from www.chip.de but I need Alcohol 120% (not to drink ) and the mdl (?) files.
Where can I get the stuff?
THX! (great sound )

Cr*p, seems like Daemon Tools has hosting problems. Or maybe a domain name grabber ?

Doesn't work with Alcohol120% or daemon v326 too...

Can't understand why, it's the same md5sum like u got so where's the error then?

After checking the cd black window pops up and then anno stops...

is your 1503_CD2.mdf size exactly 519.700.608 Bytes ??

Otherwise it seems not to function.

Has your File the same name ??

Yes sure!
Same size and same name!

Alcohol 120% logs about 40 errors reading the original image, but i thought that is normal, aint it?
