sony dru500a upgraded....
if you go to sony's website and goto the sony dru500a page, under promotion there is a file you could download which will allow the burner to burn DVD+R media at 4x.

I haven't seen ANYTHING that I need the +R/+RW format for..... Enlighten me...... Why do I need it.....????

Why do I need it.....???? ----- BG: I got nothing against +R Drive and having it is a great option But I agree with you on this..+R and -R both are great but I'm happy with the A05..Maybe IF I buy another drive I'll get the Sony Drive..Since it is upgradeable..

Hey A03.... I'm just like you..... I don't have anything against the Sony either (hell, i've even rec. it ).... But everyone keeps saying its the best burner (which it may be) BUT no one has proven what the +R/+RW format is better for than the -R/-RW......
Thats my only question......

Well I don't think no one is emphasizing what's better over another rather Since the Sony drive is +R Media capable I guess why not get this one instead, it's built in after all..
Also Correct me if I'm wrong due to that being A05 retail is chepaer now over the Sony DRU500A unit.. I believe it's around $50.00 or so more cheaper over the Sony Burner..Not that it's lot but to some every $$$ adds up.. Me, Personally I'll get the Sony Drive If I known about the upgrade.. I probably get someone from my family to get 2 of this drives for me as a Christmas present and sell the A05 retail box..
