Advice

Hi all
nice to find a forum for all the questions i have about mod chips and consols. well im gonna try to get an xbox or playstation 2 for christmas but dont know witch one to go with. i think both are nice consols and i wanna go with the one that will be the easiest to play backedup games on. so before picking one and finding out it is going to be hella hard gettin them to work id like some advice on witch one to go with not only for that but graphics and overall play.

some of my questions i have.

i hear you get banned if you try to play on the internet with a mod chip on. do you get banned from all online games or just that server/game u tried it on?

if i go with an xbox witch im leaning towards i heard on isonews.c o m that M$ is making the new models their shipping out to other countries that they cant be modded? they encrypted something i dont know much but if i buy an xbox in the next month will i be buying one of these systems that will have no use to me?

another question i have is is there a way to make a backup of my xbox games on my home computer instead of useing the ones the groups release for download?

and the big one is can you use cdrs to make a backup. i read on a modchip site you can use cdrs and cdrws but dvdrs were recomended why is that? and if you cant use cdrs can u use cdrws? or just dvdrs?

last question. if i get an xbox what chip should i go witch works the best. doesnt matter how hard it is to get in caz my dad is very good with the saudering gun and that kind of stuff. thanks all

PS2 is my speciality but I think I can help you out. Xbox has been much more involved in stopping people from making backups. I heard about being banned for having a chip but I think they might have stopped doing this. You dont have to worry about any of this with a PS2. Dvdr is recommended because that is what xbox and ps2 games are made on. You can use cdr but this requires ripping which takes time and patience. It also requires cutting out many aspects of the game such as video sequences in order to get the game to fit on a cdr. Personally I would go with a PS2. Yes the xbox has better graphics and the headset you can use when playing online is cool but lets face it....xbox games suck. They have really only had a couple great games. PS2 has tons of awesome games. Its not just me who thinks this. PS2 outsells xbox and gamecube combined. You can even look at the number of posts on this forum between PS2, xbox, and gamecube to see the popularity difference. But the choice is yours. I backup PS2 games with extreme ease and would be happy to get you started....IF you choose PS2 over xbox.

NOOOOOOOOOO.

Xbox can't read cd-r's. only dvd's and cd-rw's. Anyways, the xbox selection of games is increasing. Lasts month there had been at least 6 games that are well worth getting. And future game plan looks tight (which is why xbox is starting to beat GC in sales).

But PS2 is a good choice. I don't own one myself, but thats because my friends have it already. Even know the online plan they have isn't as good as xbox's, you can still use modded PS2's (and morons can use GS, which I don't support with online play). Also, PS2 games are far easier to copy. With xbox, you have to deal with networks and everything.
