Some questions.....

Right I'm thinking about getting a x-box or a PS2. No due to the way CD/DVDs have a way of getting scratched around me I will probably need to backup my games which is gonna be a big factor. So my questions for the PS2 are :

What MOD chip to get? (I'd prefere no solder but if it's not as good I can solder it in)
Do you need a different MOD chip for different versions of the PS2?
What DVD media do you use? (DVD+RW, DVD-R ect)
What's the best cheapest make of that media?
Where's a good place in the UK that sells mod chips?
Do you need a extra disk (action replay) to play PS2 back ups?

Thanx

Answer: Stay away from no solder chips if possible.

Answer: I personally use the -R format.. If you have a newer PS2 you can probably get away with using either type....

Thanx alot
some more questions
If I start to back up my DVD collection (I've already scratched one film ) Do I need a MOD chip? (for compatibility)

If I have a R1 DVD and play it using that action replay will I need a NTSC -> PAL converter or dose it do that in the software?

Are there any emulators out for the PS2 like there are for the xbox?

Thanx again
