I never patch anything.... All of my EA Sports games are direct 1:1 backups....
The boot perfectly on a PS2 modded with Messiah..... You may have to patch if you don't have a "direct boot" chip....

i dont have messiah chip i have the older usb chip and game shark and i had to patch all cd format games i just got a hp 220i dvd burner and have not had any luck with tiger woods 2003 using the new nero or record now is there more tricks? i've read the tutorial on them both, or is my chip bad for dvd? thanks

A USB mod will not boot DVD-R....
 Time to update to a better chip.....

.... better chip being Messiah or Messiah 2, they are so cheap now it seems pointless to punish your PS2 with other types of modchip

the HP dvd is a +r/rw drive so depending on your model of ps2 it may not work anyway
