Exclamation Creating a Bootable GS 2 disk

From what i've read on this forum backing up the ps2 GS v1.9 disk is useless unless you have a direct boot mod, My problem is I want to CREATE a BOOTABLE cd, I have the data backed up onto cd-r, I want to make it bootable by "building" the iso from scratch. There was a link on ps2ownz site about a year ago, but that is long gone, if ANYONE knows how I can create one a post would be very appreciated! I know this seems outrageous but I KNOW that it can be done, just takes a little work to put the necessary files into place..also to build this CD you,ll need the data that makes the ps2 think that the created CD is an offical GS 2 CD.

This is where you are screwed.....

There are no cd/dvd burners capable of re-producing the files you talk about..... They are PRESSED into the pre-groove area of the cd/dvd....(This is the reason a mod chip is required, to bypass those files which CANNOT be written..)

If it was easy enough just to re-produce THOSE files, there would be no need for mod chips....

Smile

After an hour or so of looking (after I posted) that the whole idea was a bust! All do to the protection that is pressed into the cd a the mfr. I went and got a new GS2v2 at the local flea market for $10...so I guess thats it! Time to burn Capcom vs SNK 2!
