Info on PS2 SCPH30002R Mod Chip???

Good day there,

Hi names Lou my son Kyle has just bought a second hand PS2 Model SCPH 3000 2R it came with a boot disk it has Dvd regionx for use on European consoles on the cover.
It will boot up amost 95% of backup games but lately it has trouble loading New games such as Stuntman ,Shox ,Contra Shattered Soldier,and PS1 Firebugs.

Looking for info i found out this is a Japanese console.

I haven't opened it up but i'm wondering if this console has to have a mod chip in it to play back ups even with the mentioned boot disk.
Also another important question can i fit in another mod chip like the Messiah in this model.
If not what mod chip would you suggest to install to be able to boot all back ups.

If it's a 30002R it's an Australia/NZ model. Of course the case and the insides might not match so it's reasonable to look inside and get the GH-01x number off the motherboard. Indeed Jap consoles have a boot disk. Perhaps you could describe the legend on the boot disk,

At the same time you can describe the modchip and its positioning, how many wires, etc.

It must have a modchip to boot backups - so please descrobe exactly the boot method. Does the tray shoot out?

Youre right its a version 4 or 5 made for Australia opened it up but didn't want to damage so cant tell you what mod chip it has.

Been told that the Messiah Modchip or the Magic 3 Modchip should do the trick.

Look at the pic for the boot disk.

We insert it wait till dvd region pops onto screen change cd with game cd close tray wait 5 seconds press start and the game loads.
