Exclamation The CD won't stop!

Could someone please help me? I'm playing a copy of Chrono Cross on the PSX (My friend is playing the original. Sort of a race. Anyway.) but when I get through to the 'please insert disc 2' option, the machine doesn't stop the disk! It just keeps spinning.
I attempted to open the machine and switch the disks anyway, but it just keeps spinning and spinning and not doing anything.
I checked for any damages on the disk - none they're brand new!

Does anyone have any Idea why this is happening? It does the same If I try and load a disc 1 game from the disk 2. Asks for the 1st disk, but doesn't actually stop spinning.

I'd play it on an emulator, but my computer can't handle it.

Thanks.

when u open the lid of your psx the disk should stop spinning,if it does not then your lid sensor switch is stuck!!
if it is a psx the lid sensor switch is near the back on the right hand side(there is a spike that pushes the switch down!)

It was something as simple as that? And I've been agonising over it for days! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! I pulled the little spring thing and the disc stopped! Looks like all I need to do is replace the spring.

Thankyou again!
