ok this is prob a stupid question, but does buying a dvd control from another region alow you to watch dvds from that region on your x box? ie. i have a region 2 uk x-box, if i buy a region 1 us dvd unit will that work? cheers.

no, it's your xbox that detects the region. I think there is am app the changes your xbox video settings, which might help you.

there is a small programe called DVD-X it is available via the megagames site www.megagames.com/xbox this programe used with a mod chip will allow you to boot any region dvd disc in your xbox.

i have also found a site selling a dvd region x disc for the x box sort of like the ps2 version selling price is £18.99 sterling
