Definatley get a Pioneer. Everybody who has a dvd burner on this board will say the same. Get a Messiah 2. Contact charlie_ps2 or dust2dust on this board for details.

I've got a A04 great burner not a had any problems. Go for the A05 if you have the cash.
That's why ment BigHap, for it to burn PS2 DVD's backup's okay. Last edited by HANS_COBBO; 11-11-2002 at 15:30. |

The Sony overall is probably a better drive just cause it has the +r and +rw option. But he asked specifically about burning ps2 games. The Pioneer is better for this cause why would you use +r for your ps2 games when the discs cost more and dont work nearly as well as -r

![]() I'm with Bighap..... It may be the overall better drive because of having both formats, BUT who needs +R & +RW anyways....

A dvd burner is for more use than ps2 burning only in my opinion.
Everybody has a dvd player and this super burner of sony can do anything. It burns ps2, pc, dvd layer 2, so why buy an expencive dvd burner just for burning ps2 if you can burn it all. I didnt say that the pioneer wasnt good. |

I agree... A DVD burner is definately for more than just PS2 games. You can use the Pioneer for everything that the Sony does except for the +R & +RW format....But since the Pioneer will burn the -R & -RW format you really havent lost much....
I definately agree that the Sony is a awesome drive.... Although I have 1 question. You said that the Sony will burn dvd layer 2. I am unsure what that is, BUT if you meant dual layer dvd (DVD-9) such as the media that dvd movies are on, NEITHER the SONY or the PIONEER will burn them.....
