Some Help Please on PAL/NTSC

Does PalFixer fix any problems with NTSC/PAL games???

I've burned Fire Pro D and all I get is a messed up picture.

Also, I've burned WorldSeries 2k2 and all it does is restart.

Is there a way to fix these?

I've not had any problems with any other games!

By the way, I have a PAL DC.

I have a PAL DC also, I have Fire Pro D (Not a repack)
Never patched it, & it works fine on my DC.
You may have an image that has been patched or
something done to it, other than that I don't know
what could be wrong with it.

Ok, er...thanks!

Is there a way of checking if the image is the problem?

Any news on how I can sort out the WS2K2?

If my memory serves me well, these games need to be overburnt. Does your burner support overburning ?

You can find patches here :
http://www.megagames.com/dc/dc_patches_w.shtml

Could you please send me your 1st_read.bin BEFORE patching them ?

Thanks for the advice, but could you be more specific in terms of how to patch and getting the 1st_read.bin.

I would be more than happy to give you all the 1st_read.bins from all the games I have.

Also, I usually burn games using diskjuggler or nero. How do I overburn?

Thanks once again!

To get the files, explore your CD with Windows Explorer. You should find a file called "1st_read.bin" in the root dir. There's nothing simpliest !

To patch a game, download PPF-O-Matic and launch it. Open your image file with it and the patch file, then apply your patch. It's also very simple.

NTSC games work just fine on my PAL Dreamcast. Never had to patch any game. The only thing you have to make sure it that your TV support 60Hz (NTSC). If that is the cause then you can play any game you want without paching it.

That is why I don't understand why there are so many patches out for games unless the patch PAL game to USA games so it has 60Hz on them instead of 50Hz. In any case just get a TV that support both (50Hz and 60Hz) and you are fine.

There are protections on some games so that they don't work on PAL DC. Do you think people would bother trying to find patches if they don't need them ???
I've got a PAL DC and my TV supports 60 Hz, but some games don't even pass Sega screen because of these protections.

fyi WorldSeries 2k2 does not need to be overburned ! an to find the overburn in dj you have to go to the Advanced tab and check the overburn cd option (make sure that your burner can do overburn or u could toast your burner use at your own risk if it dont )
