from what i've read up on and from listening to everyone on this forum i guess it's not recommended to bother with ripped copies of dvds and just burn dvds to dvd-r...but i constantly download games from ftp's and i can download these games already ripped from an ftp so the ripping isn't a problem...what is is whether a no solder chip is reliable...will it play cdr backups of dvd games as long as they are not over the 74 min (650 mb) limit? any help is appreciated

Yeah, I beleive it will....Providing the rips are good...
Although, you should highly consider getting a direct boot chip... Then you don't have to worry about the size... Just burn and play..

Warlock is right. as long as you stick to direct backups you wont have any problems, just alot of swaping
