Primo DVD 2.0 and PS2 DVD-Rom based games backup question

Quite simply, I'm hoping to find the answer to a simple question:

Has anyone created a Global Image file of a DVD-Rom based PS2 game to HDD, then burnt it to a Blank DVD disc??? And secondly, does the backup work on the PS2 console???

Hoping so, as my Pioneer DVD-Rom and Primo DVD 2.0 make a lethal combination then...
I neither have a PS2 console nor a DVD-Burner, so need someone who has done this to let me know on their experiences.

The tutorial for this on ####://www.psxcopyworld.co.uk is testament to this combination working. it did on my combo.
