PSX not recognising CD-Rs

This is doing my head in

As far as i can tell, i've successfully burned the game (FF:T.) ePSXe recognises it fine, however my PSX refuses to do anything. By this, i mean that it shows the white boot logo, but then goes to a screen similar to the memory card menu. Instead of that menu, it shows a small playstation logo, with "Insert Disc"

I'd think that this was caused by a bad disc, however i have burned other things including a boot disc (just incase of copy prot) and i get the same thing.

The PSX is modded afaik (borrowed) and when i open the cover, the disc is spinning away at full speed.

Is there anything that could be causing this barring bad media (cheap bulk, but never let me down before?)

So far, ive tried different programs, different source images, @ (1x 2x 4x) and the PSX has been rebooted at every possible angle

I'll be glad to hear any idea. Thanks.

You said it boots up the white screen then insert disc? Sounds like a modchip problem.. if its not booting into the black screen with the PS logo then its the modchip
