Search for knife on this forum and you will find it. I highly recommend you dont do it though. It will mess up your ps2 and you will be out $200 for a new one. Just get a damn chip for $60. Its a lot cheaper and does no harm to your ps2.

Before you go looking for a modchip, you need to find out what version PS2 your m8 has...Look on the back of the PS2...There is a sticker that has a number on it..It starts with SCPH-######.
We need to know what that number is so we can determine the best mod chip for you...
As far as install goes.... All of the GOOD mod chips require 23 wires to be soldered and YES, they are difficult to install...

Hi snoopy,
I burnt such as 120 ps2 games and more than 80 backups work perfectly.
However, i don't have any modchip fitted in my console...
It's not a fake, go on the website to verify this swap trick method:

http://www.warezfamily.tk/
then click on section warez, ps2 games, ... "tutorial" shortcut.
I don't use any knife too, and i think it's safely for your console:
Making a wrong soldering can damage your console for life...
But it seems that the modchip still be the best way to launch the backups...
