How do u add & remove files from a .cab file?

Hey,

I've got Ofice XP Pro. It has a .cab file that i can access but i want to delete and add files in it without effecting anything else. Do you know any good programs for doing this?

Thanks in advance

Get i6comp
Use the search function of this board and you'll find two useful threads about using i6comp with GTA3 - which will be helpful to you too. Search for "i6comp"

i don't think this will work...

there are 2 types of .cab files:
- Microsoft .cab files
- InstallShield .cab files
they have a different structure.

InstallShield cabinet files require a .hdr file and can only be handled with i5comp / i6comp.

Microsoft's cabinet files can be opened and extracted with WinZip, but it cannot add or remove files.
i think WinAce is able to do that.

As you may guess: the .cab file that you have, is the Microsoft type... so open it with WinAce.

Tinkering the way you want to will NOT work, and will only result in a useless conclusion.
Yes, oops
