CDRWIN 80 minute burn trouble

I have no trouble burning 74 minute CD's w/ CDRWIN, but when I try to do 80 minute CD's, I get the prompt that it's longer than 74 minutes, click ok/continue anyway, and it burns until 97-98%, than I get the "Error: Read/Write... or bad software..." message. Is there something I am not doing correctly, or some feature I am not enabling or should be disabling? Thanks in advance for any help, I appreciate it!

The .WAV file was just over 75 minutes and fails at 97-98% done w/ the same error each time.

get an ATIP reader, and see the absolute lead in lead out times for the cd's - that should be revealing
