PS2 Games Not Loading

Okay, I've tried to burn and play many games (Tekken 4, MLB Slugfest, Burnout), but they don't seem to work. The only games that have worked are Virtua Fighter 4 and The Thing. I'm thinking it's maybe because the other games are originally from DVDs?

I have a V6 Ps2 and the Solderless Modchip.

Can anyone help? Thanks.

1. what burning method are you using?
2. what media are you using?
3. what booting method are you using?

most likely one of the above

Tried both Nero and FireBurner for burning at 4x.

Using Memorex 800 meg CD-R's.

Using Gameshark2 Ver. 1.9. (Put in GS, Start game without codes, swap with burned game by holding down Eject button for a couple secs, then play)

ok, you say the games you burned were originally DVDs, meaning you ripped them yourself? In UK games such as Tekken 4 and Burnout are DVD-Rom (dont know about US).

I have never ripped a game myself, but remember something along the lines of solderless mods (or mods with swaps) cannot boot games over 650 MB data on them. Perhaps somebody could confirm this.

Also, if they are rips then it may be to do with the ripkit that you used.

Burning program wise have you tried using CDRWin or CloneCD if your originals are actually CD-Rom based. www.psxcopyworld.co.uk for software and tutorials.

Hmmm, I didn't rip them myself. Downloaded them from releasing groups. But they are over 650 megs....

Is there a way I could compress them or something?

GS2 v1.9 wont work on a v6 console, it must be 1.93 or higher, Also dvd rips must be under 640 mb to work with a no solder mod, its best to stick with direct backups, cd to cdr, dvd to dvdr,

How about if I got another mod chip? What would you recommend? And is there some way I could get it installed (I wouldn't be able to solder those things myself)

That would be the BEST thing to do....Where are you located?
Would HIGHLY rec. getting the Messiah, Magic 2, or some type of DIRECT BOOT mod chip....Is your V6 as US PS2...?

Yeah, it's a US Ps2. I'm located in the Bay Area, California, USA.

After looking at the instructions for installing the Messiah, I KNOW I won't be able to do the soldering. =)

It's all so complicated. Makes my head hurt just looking at it.

Go ahead and get yourself the Magic 2!
Then ship the chip and your PS2 to Bill @ Freedomlives.com, and let him do the install for you..
He is located in Chicago, but it shouldn't cost very much to ship it to him....
He is VERY, VERY, good....
