Refurbished Or New?

I got a xbox (refurbished) from Electronic Boutique, The salesman which I knew was telling stories says this unit was picked off the line at mircosoft and was tested that is why its refurished. LOL! YEAH right. So I call Xbox and ask for their story. I heard this. Its a new unit inside, the shell is just used. So I ask this isnt a deal where whatever it needed it got and sent back out? My answer was no everything inside is new.
My question is a refurbished just as good as a new one?
I got a 90 day warranty same as new and an option to buy a $15 warranty for 1-2 years.
Would anyone else buy a refurbished one? I have 14 days to take it back.

Quall999 is on a distinguished road
If someone bought an xbox, and (s)he returned it because it broke and was under warenty, MS would replace only the faulty parts with new ones (and clean all the dust out). This would be an example of refurbished.

The refurbished xbox should work as good as a new one and not die any sooner.
